Browns defensive end Olivier Vernon will miss his second straight game as he continues to rehab the knee injury that he suffered against the Denver Broncos.
This means that we’ll see Chad Thomas and Chris Smith in a rotation opposite Myles Garrett. Cleveland also signed defensive end Bryan Cox on Wednesday although it’s unclear what his status will be for Thursday night’s division showdown against the Steelers.
Defensive back Eric Murray is also out for the second straight game as he continues to recover from knee surgery just a couple of weeks ago.
The only other players listed on the final injury report were tight end Ricky Seals-Jones (knee) and offensive tackle Kendall Lamm (knee) who were both listed as questionable but were full participants in Wednesday’s practice.
On the Steelers side, three players have already been ruled out for Thursday. Wide receiver Ryan Switzer (back) along with running back Benny Snell (knee) and fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee) will not play against Cleveland.
Cornerback Joe Haden was added to the injury report as he did not practice Wednesday with an illness. He’s listed as questionable along with linebacker Anthony Chickillo (ribs).
