Report: Browns hire Bill Callahan as OL Coach

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Cleveland Browns are expected to hire former Washington interim head coach Bill Callahan as the offensive line coach.

Callahan spent the last four seasons and change as the offensive line coach before taking over as interim head coach for the fired Jay Gruden in Washington.

According to Pro Football Focus, Washington’s offensive line ranked 11th, 7th, 21st, 19th and 13th starting in 2015.

It should be noted that Washington was missing 7-time Pro Bowler Trent Williams this last season when looking at those rankings and they also lost Brandon Scherff to season ending injury.

Callahan will look to help retool the Browns offensive line that has struggled over the last couple seasons. The Browns will most likely be adding two offensive tackles to their roster either from free agency, the draft or both.
