Week 5 Injury Report: Cleveland Browns vs Indianapolis Colts

The Cleveland Browns will once again be heading into gameday with some key components of their defense unfortunately sitting on the sidelines.

Cornerback Greedy Williams (shoulder), linebacker Tae Davis (elbow) and defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi (abdomen) were all ruled out on Friday for Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

Williams has missed every game of the season since injuring his shoulder in training camp and it’s still unclear the severity of that injury. Ogunjobi suffered his oblique injury last Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Expect rookie defensive tackle Jordan Elliott to start in his spot on the defensive line.

Cleveland also listed defensive end Adrian Clayborn (hip) and Karl Joseph (hamstring) as questionable on the final injury report.

Clayborn missed last Sunday’s game with the hip injury he suffered in Week 2 against Cincinnati.

Joseph injured his hamstring in Thursday’s practice and head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that the team will be monitoring the injury closely until inactives are due on Sunday morning. If Joseph can’t go, expect Ronnie Harrison to fill in as the strong safety.

The Indianapolis Colts will be without two key starters on Sunday as both left tackle Anthony Castonzo (rib) and linebacker Darius Leonard (groin) were ruled out.

Castonzo has been the Colts’ left tackle since they drafted him in the first round back in the 2011 NFL Draft and has started 136 games over his ten-year career. Indianapolis will start veteran offensive lineman LeRaven Clark at left tackle.

Leonard has been the leader of the Colts defense since they selected him in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft with 311 tackles, 12 sacks, seven interceptions and six forced fumbles in 32 career games. Sixth-round pick Jordan Glasnow is expected to start in Leonard’s spot.

Indianapolis had additional linebackers on the report throughout the week Bobby Okereke and Anthony Walker but Walker is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Okereke was a full participant in Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday with a thumb injury.
