Within the last year, I heard a Pro Football Focus (PFF) podcast mention a person by the name of Benjamin Robinson and the work he is doing at Grinding The Mocks (GrindingTheMocks.com). Hearing the hosts talk more, they mentioned the great work Benjamin was doing accumulating mock draft information and creating to help predict what teams would do in the NFL Draft.

Hind site being 20-20, I tested out the website by looking back at what the Cleveland Browns did in the 2020 NFL Draft.
The above information was produced by GrindingTheMocks.Com Team Mock Draft Charts
Pretty spot on. Andrew Thomas was gone at the fourth selection, but the Browns had their pick from everyone else listed. Additionally, the Mock Draft Share table broke down where the crowd thought the Browns were going and were pretty spot on. According to the chart, almost 90% of mock drafts had the Browns taking an offensive tackle.
2021 Browns Grinding The Mocks Data
So what does the outlook look like for the 2021 Cleveland Browns NFL Draft pick at 26 overall?
The data collected was from mock drafts from March 2021 to April 2021.
I am surprised in a couple of ways. Unfortunately, to the dismay of many Browns analysts, Zaven Collins, OLB from Tulsa, is at the top of the list. Clearly, people see the lack of top-end talent at the position or are projecting Collins to EDGE. While it is possible, I found this article helpful from Jon Ledyard, Tampa Bay Bucs beat writer at Pewter Report.
The second surprise, no wide receiver mentioned in the top-5 positions mocked. It is possible the mock draft community isn’t hip to the Browns wide receiver situation post-2021 or they don’t think the Browns really have a problem.
This is another great data point to consider who the Browns will take in the 2021 NFL Draft.
